Tuesday -

KICKBOXING!!! With Deni Preston. This particular episode is more challenging than the other because of its complicated routines. All of that Jab, cross, hook, upper stuff - I mean after your arms start to get tired they're just kind of flailing around. I watched the participants in the show - Even Nate's arms weren't following the pattern anymore! Ha Ha! So I didnn't feel so bad about it. But I'm still working on perfecting the moves... as my hips don'tgo the correct directions when the tempo jumps up. It's pretty funny to watch - IF anyone was here to watch really.

I've got the 2 yr old, who snuck into our bed this morning very early and usually sleep VERY lightly, watching Bedknobs and Broomsticks while I workout. The 3 yr old is coming out and going back to A- get dressed, girl! You don't wander around the house Nekked! B- Brush teeth C- Did you make your bed?? - and I'm coming to check!!! Oh and the baby needed attention here and there... so a few interuptions. But I completed the workout anyway. I'm really stubborn :)

So onto the rest of my day with newfound energy! I have discovered than when I don't do some serious sweating in the morning I get tired somewhere in the day. It's really annoying. So I'm not taking rest days except on Sundays anymore. I don't want to fight fatigue all day long!! So my workouts are energizers and mood lifters!! YAY!!

Oh, and as far as results I just haven't done a check yet- when I make the time I'll update ya'll. I'll just say my clothes aren't falling off yet... and I keep reminding myself that the baby's ONLY 9 weeks old this week. I need to be patient with myself.

Sweat on, lovelies! Sweat on!

Monday!

1 hour on the treadmill with 1.25 lbs on each ankle. The goal is to get where 2.5 lbs on each is comfy! This is my way of making up for running indoors when I can't go out and torture myself with hills!

I can't run while staring at the wall so I watched Sherlock Holmes, Episode of The Devil's Foot, with Jeremy Brett. LOVEd it. So it helped distract me from the extra poundage on my limbs.

Tomorrow - STRENGTH. Trying to decide between a strength episode with Deni or kickboxing? hmmmm.

Sweat on, girlies!!!

Serious catch up!

Monday- typical 4 miles.

Tuesday - Quick jog to warm up and then Strengthen and Stretch!

Wednesday - Is supposed to be 2 miles but I stayed on the treadmill for an hour and a half. Then stretched.

Thursday - 4 mile run in the morning and strength training. Then Hubby took the day off so I went for a 3 mile run later that afternoon on the hills.

Friday - was supposed to be a 5 K run, but it rained, again. So it became a rest day.

Satyrday - today! I was excited but cramped for time. Excited becase I have ankle weights!! Picked them up yesterday. So I strapped those puppies on and hopped on the treadmill for an easy jog to try them out.

This week has been, training wise, and easy week... my schedule said I was to take it a little easy. To give my body more time to heal up, I guess, since I've pushing so hard for 5 weeks. Anyway Monday is gibba start another few weeks of hardcore pushing again. And from now on when I get on the treadmill I'll be wearing the ankle weights!! HOPEFULLY it will help increase strength and help make those killer hills easier!!! Especially since I don't have a schedule that allows me to run them everyday :(

Results...

Just to show something is happening here: 10 days ago I measured myself, and as of yesturday I lost 3 1/2 inches.

I know it doesn't sound like much BUT that's only 9 days! You usualy give yourself 14 days in between... so we'll see what happens a few das from now, or maybe I'll wait the entire 2 weeks.

So SOMEthing is happening! YAY!!

Sweat on!

Friday!!!

YAY! for the weekend... what does the weekend mean for a SAHM? It means hubby's home to help out ;)

Okay this morning ? Kickboxing with Deni Preston! Whew! Fantastic workout! Got the blood up and it was a terrific cross training choice! Yummy!

After stretching I felt FABU!

Thursday-

Strength training and supposedly 4 miles... I just stayed on the treadmill for an hout to make sure. Lifted weights and stretched.

Wednesday...

I'm behind in posting- I'll try to do better :)

Ok- Wed I hopped on the treadmill for an hour... I feel better in the morning when I get some serious sweating done.

Tuesday-

Got up and got going with Deni Preston Strength training, then a 20 minute run on the treadmill.

Got the blood flowing and woke me up. Legs a little tired, but hey they'll get over it!!

Exercise has soooo many benefits! Great mood today!

Sweat on!!

Monday continued-

Got in an hour and an half on the treadmill.... so if we give me a super generous time of 15 mins per mile (who runs that slow?) I ran 6 miles.

Felt great and the only reason I got off was because it was time to put the children to bed. I inhaled some veggies and leftover fish and a biscuit- super hungry after runs. mmmmm.

Then aside from midnight nuring I slept like a log. No Postpartum issues for me!! YAY!!

Moday!!

Tight! TIght! Tight! SO I did Sun Salutations with Deni Preston! Got warmed up and did some serious stretching! Everything was so tight this morning, then it all felt much better when I finished.

My body, I think, has rid itself of the relaxen that I need so much of for labor. Now my body has reacted to this loss by cinching up on me, so I'm tighter than usual. It will take time to even itself out, and some effort on my poart to be comfortable and not lose any of the flexibility I have. My goal is not to lose that, but to gain more. I'm not a very flexible person and would love one day to be able to do a split! But it's a long long way from where I am at right now.

So... this morning I've built strength and stretched. No, it's not on my training program to workout every single morning, but it makes me feel better and it definitely improves my mood to be able to move comfortably, so I added it. I obviously, do not do the same type of thing every morning. Sometimes it's yoga, sometimes Aerobics, sometimes like this morning it's a warm up to stretch. Just like I can't do the same distance run every single day (unless I want to stagnate) I gotta do a different workout every day. I could do the same workout, which would make that one workout pretty easy after a few days, but then every other workout would feel SUPER tough. And my body wouldn't improve. Constant growth! THat's what we want!

Morning workout : Check!

Afternoon 4 Mile Run: Not yet. I'll do that before dinner. I don't run in the dark, and the sun still isn't coming up before 6:15. I need it up at 5:30 to get my runs in before hubby goes to work.

Great start to my morning. The others are busy making noise making beds and brushing teeth so it's time to get started! It's a school day!

Saturday!

WHEW!!! I went 7.5 MILES!!!! My legs and backside rather resent me right now, but we did it!! I did NOT walk, I did NOT stop!! I slowed down considerably on those killer hills, but I kept on!!!

Go me! Go Me! GO ME! Yeah, I hit shy of the 8 miles I was going for. And it's no where NEAR the 13 I need for the race, but hey! It's improvement!

I measued myself earlier this week. So I'll start watching to see itf there is any improvement. BUT because I KNOW I hang on to poundage I am NOT weighing in every week! Inches is what I'll watch. And I measured because I fit (barely, it's true)into a pair of my larger jeans. So I figured it was safe :)

ANyway- every little step is the improvement. Every little baby step is good! Sweat on, sistas!! Sweat on!

Wednesday and Thursday...

Okay, getting in all of my workouts is proving to be very challenging and due to unforseen travel and a last minute change in schdule, I missed my 2 mile run yesterday :(

But I got in my 4 mile run and strength training this morning!! "Always look on the bright side of life!" - gotta have a little Monty Python in life, right? Yup - that's what I thought. SO no guilt about missed opportunities - just moving on and working out!!

In this post I would like to include that I have reverted to my old breakfast traditions... some kind of yogurt fruit smoothy! Homemade yogurt of course!! In this I put yogurt, 4-5 strawberries or comparable amount of fruit, a splash of raw milk, and just a trickle of honey. YUMMMMMMM! I end up sharing some with SOMEone. THis morning in was the 2 yr old who bumped her head. ouch!

So, I'm slowly getting back to my old eating habits, which naturally change when I'm pregnant as my body has different needs at that time. I'm becoming less of a meat eater again and a smoothy lover. Can't wait till green and veggies become more available with the season changing.

Sweat on, ladies! And LOVE IT!

Tuesday -

So this morning I Worked out with Deni Preston a Hi-Lo workout. WOW!! My 2 yr old watched, as she woke early. Kicked my pututti! But was great!

Stretched a LOT!!! With all this jogging going on my groin muscles are tight, so I spend extra time stretching those as well as my calves. Oh and twists- gotta have lots of twists!!

On the book I'm reading- I have not got any further along. WHat I have been doing is observing. I am observing all the times when I COULD be more in the moment. Just observing though- I'm not making an effort to change anything yet. Just observing- which is the first step towards change. So, I'm enjoying this step. As I continue to watch I am sure I will begin to live more in the moment a little bit every day.

Monday COntinued...

Okay ran my 4 miles!! ANd that wind was murder!!! Whew! But I did it. It was tiring running against the wind though, and my ears would have really hurt if I hadn't had ear pieces in for my MP3 player.

Good run anyway though.

Monday!

I started off my day this morning with an half hour of POWERFUL yoga with Sadie Nardini on you tube. WOW! Shocked the heck out of my muscles. No I have no abandoned my beloved Deni Prestons dvds... but as Deni herself says, we need to shock those muscles to get the most out of them.

So I learned a little about "Fists of Fire" and the "Breath of Fire". Neat. I enjoyed it! It was HARD but I enjoyed it.

Later I have a run to do, hopefully outside.... but it's a little stormy so I may be stuck on the treadmill.

Remember to start your day off ith some movement! And enjoy the day! Sweat on!

Training for a Half Marathon

I just finished my thrid week of training. First week I ran a total of 11 miles. Second week - 9 miles. Third week- 12 1/2 miles. Sounds pretty neat when you add it all up, doesn't it?

So, I'm not giving up! In 7 weeks I'm going for it! This week I'm going to register. I figure since I've done well with the training so far I'm good to go. And once I register there's no backing out, you know?

Running for F.R.E.E. Last year I ran a freebee in town, 6 K. This time I found one for a cause. It's to raise the awareness of Human Trafficking in this state, well, really in the U.S. So it's 16.someodd miles. AWESOME, huh?!

I'm a little nervous still. 6 week old baby, nursing every night, 6 other children to do for all day. Hubby's been VERY supportive. But I still have this niggling voice in my head that says I can't do it... yeah- I'm ignoring it. A little nervous and also pretty excited! I figure by the time the rcae happens 5 mile runs, like today will be a BREEZE! That's the goal. Making difficult things easy for my body to conquer.

Cheer me on, if you would. I'd appreciate it! Thanks for reading!

Saturday!

5 miles ... DONE!!!! Okay I figure I run super slow... But I got back in under an hour... yeah that's probly super slow for most people - But consider that I'm still only 6 weeks postpartum. and I was never a speed demon. Anyway, this run up and down those hill kicked my bum! But I did it and it was worth it! And the time gives me hope of actually getting faster one day!

So tomorrow I HAVE to do yoga, or I won't be able to MOVE AT ALL! I just know it. So, Deni Preston, I hear you calling my name!

And now onto the rest of my day filled with children and chores. aand maybe a nap? ah- I wish! Ha Ha!

Yay me. And yay you for whatever you're doing in pursuit of your goal! Sweat on, my sistas, sweat on!!
